The standard clutch is very prone to slipping and can often be cured by simply replacing the plates but sometimes its simply down to the poor design and weakness of the standard diaphragm clutch spring.
The cheapest and most effective way is to place another diaphragm spring on top of the O/E, the only down side is this leaves the clutch lever action heavy.
